7. An approach has been made by Telscombe Residents Association to merge the two residents’ associations. This is because both associations are currently struggling to get sufficient members to attend meetings and rules on appointment of Officers restricts how long a post can be occupied by an individual. Bearing in mind the outstanding decisions to be taken for Local Govt Re-organisation (LGR), Telscombe Residents Association has asked for the decision on LGR to be announced before a merger is investigated. This agenda item is to obtain the views of members prior to any formal meetings with Telscombe Residents Association.
8. The Current Constitution calls for quarterly members meetings with monthly Committee meetings – in practice this has been a full members meeting every month. The current Officers would like to revert to the process as stated in the Constitution.
