Welcome
Welcome to the Peacehaven Residents Association website.
About Us
We are a totally independent association than can trace its origins to the start of Peacehaven in 1917. Throughout that time the Association has looked after the interests of the residents of Peacehaven. The inclusion of ‘District’ in our title also enables us to comment on activities in the surrounding areas, including Telscombe and Newhaven, where they affect our Town.
From our earliest days, the Association has worked to persuade the Town Council to act responsibly and openly. Our members are keen that we question inappropriate development, the lack of local amenities, and the building of too many new houses without the necessary infrastructure. We accept that Peacehaven will continue to expand, because it has space and it is a good place to live. However we are determined to argue for the corresponding improvement to schooling, medical services, policing, public transport, roads within the town and the A259 NOT as an afterthought but an an integral part of that expansion. Contact is also maintained with the other local groups and initiatives that have similar objectives.
With a committed membership and no political links, our members know that we are free to raise questions with Town, District and County Councillors. At our quarterly meetings, our members can ask the committee to look into problems that is taking place.
